Join us at The Carnegie for our Speaker Series partnering with our local DAR, NSCDA, and SAR chapters:
An Evening with Author W. Wright Mitchall: Biography on Governor John Treutlen
W. Wright Mitchell will discuss his new biography of John Adam Treutlen, Georgia’s first elected governor, and Treutlen’s role in the American Revolution. Copies of Mitchell’s new book will be available for purchase at the speaker series, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about this important but often overlooked figure in Georgia’s revolutionary history.
W. Wright Mitchell is president of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and a longtime advocate for the preservation and interpretation of Georgia’s historic places and stories. Through his work with the Georgia Trust and his historical research and writing, Mitchell has helped bring greater attention to Georgia’s rich architectural and cultural heritage.
